Bye Bye Birdie

Directed by Johnny McKnight.  Written by Michael Stewart, Lee Adams and Charles Strouse.  Performed at Citizens Theatre, produced by Dance School of Scotland

Originally titled Lets Go Steady, Bye Bye Birdie is a satire of American society set in 1958.  The story was inspired by the phenomenon of Elvis Presley and his draft notice into the Army in 1957.

That talent of this quality is nurtured in this country is something to be proud of – shout it from the rooftops – but not before you’ve bought a ticket to see this.  GLASGOW THEATRE BLOG
